Ortho-Bionomy

Ortho-Bionomy, often referred to as the homeopathy of bodywork, is a unique system of painless body therapy developed by Dr. Arthur Lincoln Pauls, a British osteopath. Ortho-Bionomy is designed to facilitate pain relief as well as physical and emotional balance. The real work in Ortho-Bionomy is achieved by the body’s own self-corrective reflexes. The releases are accompanied by realignment and re-education of muscles, nerves and tissue. The practitioner uses gentle movements and body positioning to encourage the body’s own natural reflexes and innate self-healing systems.
Benefits/Contraindications

Ortho-Bionomy helps to alleviate acute and chronic pain and addresses stress patterns thereby reducing muscle tension, soothing the joints, increasing flexibility, improving circulation, relaxing the body and calming the mind. No forceful manipulation or deep muscle probing is utilized. Ortho-Bionomy can be incredibly effective in the release of acute and chronic pain associated with structural tension or imbalance. These techniques increase circulation and provide a greater sense of well-being. Ortho-Bionomy enables clients to consciously experience and participate in their body’s ability to self-correct. This healing modality is for everyone; health care practitioners, bodyworkers who desire a gentler approach on their own bodies, and for the layperson.
Training/Licensing
